The Journey To Discovery
When President Ingle first interviewed for his current position, he was asked what his vision was for the university.
His response was he didn’t have one. Instead, he embarked on a listening journey to cultivate relationships and
understand the potential of the organization’s people before forming a vision. In conversation with Executive Vice
President Chris Owen, Ingle discusses the significance of the framework of listening, the formation of the university’s
mission and the journey to discovering one’s divine design.

Experiential Learning
A part of President Kent Ingle’s vision for SEU has been to invest in experiential learning. While discussing the
value of students pairing theory learned in the classroom with experiential components, Ingle and Chris Owen,
Executive Vice President, reflect on the importance of creating a collegiate experience that provides students
with the opportunity to implement what they learn into a real-life setting.
Reinventing Higher Education
SEU’s rapid growth is a direct reflection of our efforts to reinvent education, making a college degree affordable
and accessible for all students. Students in these programs not only have the benefit of earning degrees from
an accredited institution at a discounted cost – they also have the opportunity to study where they live and
work. Through SEU's extension site network under President Ingle's leadership, students have completed millions of
service hours in local churches around the country.

Ministry Impact
From New Brockton, Alabama, to Lakeland, Florida, over the past 85 years, we have trained over 5,974 graduates who are ministering around the world. Nearly half of those graduates (2,259) trained for ministry in the last 10 years at SEU.
Last year alone (2019–2020), 2,640 students were enrolled in classes to prepare for ministry-related positions, making us the largest Pentecostal university in the United States.
Investing in the Local Church
During President Ingle's tenure, the university brought on 175 extension sites and regional campuses where students study, grow as leaders and serve in church ministry through practicum coursework. Through SEU's sponsorship of the practicum program, President Ingle has saved students over $15 million in tuition and the local church nearly $30 million through experiential learning opportunities.
