Diamond Club Campaign

Preparation is key to executing any great plan.

The Diamond Club Campaign is not only an invitation to invest financially in the improvement of our program but to also invest in the work that happens in the lives of the young women in our program as they move through their education here at SEU.

A Message from Head Coach Kayla Watkins

Can you believe season #10 is upon us?

We have seen top-25 rankings in five of our nine playing seasons, hitting the impressive 40-win mark in four consecutive seasons from 2014–2018. And, who can forget the 3rd place finish at the NAIA World Series in 2016? It’s incredible to think about everything this program has accomplished in its short history.

One of my favorite “accomplishments” is our relationship with you. We are so grateful for how you support our program through the Diamond Club! Two years ago, we launched the Diamond Club as a way for our family, friends, and fans to join us in all we do day-to-day. One of our favorite initiatives began last year, when we kicked off our annual First Pitch Banquet! Many of you joined us and got an inside look at our team. What a great time!

Each year, we work hard to offer our student-athletes an experience they will carry with them far beyond their playing days at SEU. Because of your generosity, last year we attended the most competitive NAIA tournament in the country — the Gulf Coast Invitational (GCI) — going 5–1 and with wins against several top-25 opponents. Following this trip, we broke into the top 25!

This spring, we will be able to return to GCI and complete some incredible upgrades at our home facility. Below are some specific needs we are continuing to work toward:

  • Updated batting cage netting and turf
  • Addition of a turf skirt around the infield
  • Addition of a press box and restroom
  • Additional seating (possibly an outfield deck)

Your support is the difference-maker as we work toward a Sun Conference Championship and a World Series Title. Additionally, your partnership is a significant piece of our mission to grow in Christ-likeness and to proclaim His name as we pursue excellence in all we do!

Thank you for considering this personal invitation to partner with SEU Softball!

Sincerely,

Kayla Watkins, Head Coach

“Playing softball at SEU has been about so much more than the game itself; it's been about the people to my right and left, about pursuing excellence on and off the field, about working for something that is bigger than myself, and about pursuing the Lord in everything I do. Being a part of this program is something that I had wanted, but didn’t realize I needed. I will forever be thankful that God allowed my path to include Southeastern."

“I am endlessly thankful to SEU for my coaches, teammates, and professors. They have helped me to do and achieve everything I could want out of a college experience — on and off the field. The community at SEU is truly special and pushes me to be a better person, friend, teammate, softball player, and Christ-follower. Playing softball here has allowed me to live out my childhood dream of playing at a competitive level — all with an incredible group of girls who have become life-long friends."

“SEU has brought me to meet some of my closest friends and has provided a place for me to learn how to fulfill the role God has called me to—becoming an educator,. I could not be more thankful for the opportunities I have had at SEU and how the people here have shaped my life in a way I could never forget.”

“From the time I stepped on Southeastern's campus I knew there was something different about it, and that I was supposed to be there. My time at SEU is a time of my life I’ll forever cherish. I was mentored, spent my time with a great spiritual family, and given opportunities to learn how to be a leader.”

“As I reflect on the individual I was prior to Southeastern, and the person I am leaving it, I am overwhelmed with gratitude. This university molded me into a stronger individual in every area of life—including athletically, academically, spiritually, and professionally. I am beyond grateful for the SEU and the role it played in the most influential times in my life.”

“SEU checked every box of what I was looking for in a school. Now, I am thankful for the time I was able to spend playing a sport I love with friends who were like family — while also growing my relationship with Christ and being prepared for my current job.”
