Dr. Charles Smith came to Southeastern University with 19 years of experience in Christian School Education. These years of experience include teaching, coaching, assistant principal, principal, and Administrator/Headmaster positions. Additionally, Dr. Smith served as the President of the Florida League of Christian Schools (FLOCS) for seven years and President of the Association of Christian Teachers and Schools (ACTS) for four years. He is also an ordained Assemblies of God minister. He served as Youth/Associate Pastor for five years, Senior Pastor for four years, and on Pastoral Staff as School Administrator for fifteen years.
Dr. Smith has desired to return to the campus of Southeastern University as a professor since he received his BA in 1986. The ability to equip future teachers with the knowledge and skills to make them effective while learning in a Christ-centered environment is unparalleled. He believes those teachers will have the largest impact on the future of education because they have the educational knowledge base and the spiritual foundation to impact students academically and spiritually.
Dr. Smith is the Coordinator of the Master’s Program in Educational Leadership and teaches online in Southeastern’s Master of Education and Doctor of Education programs. Dr. Smith’s main research interests are teacher job satisfaction, teacher motivation, and Educational Leadership.
