Dr. Rohm’s magnum opus was commanding a military mountaineering training company and small Army garrison on the island of Cheju in South Korea. He supervised 20 American and 30 Korean employees, both soldiers and civilians, and taught over 2,700 U.S. and Korean soldiers. Dr. Rohm commanded a psychological operations company and served as battalion executive officer, in a unit focused on influencing foreign audiences during military operations throughout the Middle East. He finished his career at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida, at both United States Central Command and Special Operations Command.
Dr. Rohm has worked and lived in seven Middle Eastern countries, El Salvador, Germany, South Korea, the Philippines, and Hawaii. He teaches leadership and management-related courses, focusing on motivation, teamwork, and cross-cultural relations. His academic interests are being a servant as both leader and follower in local and cross-cultural settings, experiential outdoor learning, and unconventional forms of education. Dr. Rohm and his wife serve in their church and local community, and homeschooled their five children.
