Mrs. Jeanna Kerchner is the Program Coordinator for the undergraduate nursing programs. She served as a clinical instructor and full-time lab assistant in 2016. In 2017 Mrs. Kerchner became the full-time simulation lab manager until 2019 when she stepped into her role as full-time faculty instructor and began teaching in the classroom. She also serves as the Assessment Technologies Institute (ATI) Coordinator for the department of nursing where she facilitates additional learning resources for students and faculty. Mrs. Kerchner is a member of Sigma Theta Tau and serves as the President on the board for the SEU nursing Omega Chi chapter.
Mrs. Kerchner’s experience in the clinical setting involves working on a certified stroke step-down unit, cardio-thoracic surgery and post-op. She was also part of the opening health care specialist team at the launch of Lakeland Regionals cutting-edge inpatient rehab, Bannasch Institute.
Mrs. Kerchner is writing her dissertation in pursuit of her PhD in Nursing Education at Liberty University. She is openly passionate for teaching and patient advocacy. It brings her great joy to encourage and equip this generation of nurses to fulfill what God has placed in their heart. “Nursing is a unique and diverse gift from God, preparing you to be an extension of His hand to bring healing to spirit, mind, and body”.
Mrs. Kerchner and her husband are active leaders in small groups, hospital visits, hospitality and discipleship at their church. They have three adult children, and grandchildren. They enjoy having fun and spending time with family whenever they can.
Mrs. Kerchner feels blessed to be a part of the Mission and Vision at Southeastern. She believes as we cultivate what God has planted in each student, together, we will impact our community for His glory and purpose.
