Bio

Dr. June Williams is a Licensed Professional Counselor and board-approved supervisor in Louisiana, with over 30 years of experience in counseling and higher education. Known for her servant-leader approach, she has held numerous leadership roles in state and national counseling organizations, including serving as president of the Louisiana College Counseling Association, the Louisiana Counseling Association, the American College Counseling Association, and Chi Sigma Iota, the International Counseling Honor Society. She also contributed eight years of service to the Louisiana Licensed Professional Counselors Board of Examiners.

Throughout her career, Dr. Williams has been honored with several awards recognizing her commitment to teaching, mentorship, and leadership. These include the President’s Award for Excellence in Teaching (Southeastern Louisiana University, 2024), the Jane E. Meyers Lifetime Mentor Award (Chi Sigma Iota, 2019), and the ACCA Professional Leadership Award (2009). She is a long-standing member of the CSI Academy of Leaders for Excellence and was recognized early in her career with the ACES Outstanding Dissertation Award (1998) and as both the Outstanding Master’s and Doctoral Graduate by the University of New Orleans Counseling Program.

Dr. Williams teaches a wide range of courses in Counseling, with particular passion for Counseling Techniques, Group Counseling, Internship, Grief and Loss Counseling, and Human Growth and Development. Her professional focus centers on grief and loss, and she is dedicated to preparing counselors to navigate these complex experiences with empathy and skill. She frequently presents at state and national conferences and facilitates workshops for agencies seeking to deepen their understanding of grief-related issues.
