In 1996, Dr. Taylor began his educational career in Pasco County as an Exceptional Student Education teacher at Pasco Middle School. After six years at the middle school, he became an elementary education ESE teacher for a brief time before becoming a secondary assistant principal. From 2002-2017, he served as an assistant principal in Pasco County. Dr. Taylor retired from the Pasco County School District in June 2017.
In July 2017, Dr. Taylor joined Southeastern University as the principal of Pathways School of Excellence. He has a heart for students with disabilities and led the school in academic and numeric growth, culminating with the school’s accreditation from AdvancED, ILCS, and FLOCS.
Dr. Taylor became a professor in the College of Education in July 2019 and is passionate about impacting the lives of future educators. He enjoys integrating his faith in the classroom and challenging his students to live out their faith daily. He desires to equip and inspire college students to give God their best and to serve Him faithfully.
Dr. Taylor is a Veteran of the United States Air Force. As a licensed and ordained minister since 1974, he served as a youth pastor for seven years before entering the field of education.
He and his wife Kittye have been married since 1997. They enjoy traveling to new places and visiting family and friends. During his free time, he loves to go bass fishing.
