Rebecca Steinke received her Master of Music Education from the University of Florida in 2019 and her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of South Florida in 1997.
An international performing artist, she has appeared in leading and supporting operatic roles, including the title role in Puccini’s Suor Angelica (Genesis Opera, 2021), the Maestra delle novizie in Suor Angelica (Music for Life, Italy, 2022), and the Mother in Menotti’s Amahl and the Night Visitors (Genesis Opera, 2017/2019). She has been featured in concerts and recitals across the United States and Europe, most recently with the Temecula Symphony (CA), the Etruria Opera Festival, and the Tuscia Opera Festival in Italy.
Rebecca has also performed with San Diego Opera and regional opera companies in Florida. She sang with the Master Chorale of Tampa Bay, appearing on their 1996 recording Christmas with the Master Chorale (Pilot Records), and is featured on additional recordings including Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater and Mahler’s Symphony No. 8 – Symphony of a Thousand in the chorus with Robert Shaw (Telarc). Her collaborations include work with distinguished conductors such as Paul Salamunovich, Sir David Willcocks, Julius Rudel, Stefano Vignati, Bruno Rigacci, Massimo Zanetti, and Karen Kamensk.
As an opera coach and chorus master, Rebecca has served on the faculty of the International Lyric Academy (Italy), preparing students and emerging artists in full productions of Die Zauberflöte, Don Giovanni, Falstaff, and Suor Angelica. In 2023, she collaborated with Opera Carolina/ILA in U.S. productions of Le Nozze di Figaro and Les Contes d’Hoffmann.
She currently serves as Director of Pastoral Music at St. Lawrence Church and School in Tampa, Florida.
