Dual Enrollment Options

Dual enrollment is an exciting opportunity for high school students to earn college credit while they are in high school. We offer dual enrollment courses on our main campus in Lakeland, Florida, as well as fully online, at select high schools, and at partner sites in Florida and Ohio.

Main Campus

Lakeland, Florida

Overview

  • 16-week classes are held on our beautiful Lakeland, Florida campus.
  • Dual enrollment is open to high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors with a cumulative, unweighted 3.0 GPA. No tests or transcripts are required. Students must maintain a 2.0 or higher SEU GPA to continue taking dual enrollment classes.

Overview

  • Online courses are 8 weeks long. Students may complete the weekly assignments on their own schedules.
  • Dual enrollment is open to high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors with a cumulative, unweighted 3.0 GPA. No tests or transcripts are required. Students must maintain a 2.0 or higher SEU GPA to continue taking dual enrollment classes.
  • Online courses are offered each semester during the fall, spring, and summer.

Overview

  • Partner site classes are 8 weeks long and are offered at select sites.
  • Dual enrollment is generally open to high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors with at least a 3.0 GPA. Some sites may have a minimum age requirement to take classes on their campus. No tests or transcripts are required.

Overview

  • Classes are offered at select Florida high school sites (Online and main campus courses are optional.)
  • You must be at least a sophomore in high school and have a high school unweighted GPA of 3.0, or a 2.5 GPA for vocational or career classes.

  • Submit the dual enrollment application.
  • Check your personal email for your SEU login information and next steps.
  • Work with your high school guidance counselor to be registered for courses.
  • Email earlyseu@seu.edu with any questions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Main campus, online, and partner site sophomores may take up to 6 credits per semester, juniors up to 12 credits per semester, and seniors up to 15 credits per semester.

Main campus, online, and partner site students may take most 1000 and 2000-level courses that do not require a prerequisite. Restrictions to some courses may apply depending on location.

Online courses are asynchronous (not “live”) so students can work on them at their convenience in their MyFire Student Learning Portal to complete weekly assignments. Each week runs from Wednesday through Tuesday night at midnight (EST). Online course instructors are available by email to assist their students.

Look with your student through our degree programs in their areas of interest. Visit catalog.seu.edu and select Programs of Study to see the foundational core requirements for each degree program. Students who are main campus, online, and at partner sites may take any of these that do not require a prerequisite. 

High school-based students select from the dual enrollment courses offered through their high schools.

To check for class availability, visit jics.seu.edu Student Registration Course Search. On the Course Search page, select the desired undergraduate term at the top. Type in Online or the location and select Search to see the course schedule.

Yes. Dual-enrolled students may complete either the AAGN (Associate of Arts, General Education) or the AML (Associate of Ministerial Leadership.) Please contact dualenrollment@seu.edu for more information about either of these options.

Dual enrollment tuition for Florida residents is paid by the state of Florida. 

Dual enrollment tuition for out-of-state students and non-residents is $170 per credit hour. Some partner sites have a site fee that may be reimburses by Florida’s PEP scholarship if the student has been approved for it.  For more information about tuition, please contact dualenrollment@seu.edu.

Dual-enrolled students who want to continue for a bachelor’s degree at SEU will apply at SEU.edu/apply for their preferred location and the semester they plan to begin. Applying to begin a bachelor’s degree in an upcoming semester will not affect the student’s dual enrollment status. Please visit seu.edu or contact admission@seu.edu for more information.
