Endowed Scholarships – Advancement

Southeastern University is grateful for the generous support of donors who contribute to student success through endowed scholarships. Endowed scholarships provide funds to students to help supplement the cost of their education. These scholarships vary based on requirements, award amount, and number of awards.

The endowed scholarship application is open February 1 – March 1 each year. Students may review the available scholarships and requirements below. After selecting up to 5 scholarships for which they qualify, students may complete the endowed scholarship application during the open application window.

Endowed Scholarships

ANY STUDENT – Note: Scholarships may pertain to a specific classification of student.

  1. Dwight Redus Endowed Scholarship: Award to full time students with demonstrated financial need actively pursuing a degree and maintaining a 3.0 GPA or higher.  First preference for scholarship awards will be given to qualifying students actively pursuing a ministry degree and then to any other student with a financial need that meets all the criteria.
  2. Lucile Dabney Clark Endowed Scholarship: Ministerial student and/or spouse who has a 2.5 or above GPA and demonstrates high leadership skills.
  3. Ralph and Audrey Crowell Memorial Endowed Scholarship: Junior or senior who has a 2.5 or higher GPA.
  4. Robert and Nita Herron SrEndowed Scholarship: Established to support students who are performing at the best of their academic ability, of high character and in good standing at SEU.

Southeastern Alumni Scholarship: Dependent children of Southeastern graduates with 2.50 or above GPA with financial need.

ASSEMBLIES OF GOD PASTORS, CHILDREN OF or ATTENDEES OF

  1. Arthur D. Heilman, Sr. Scholarship: Award to full-time students with demonstrated financial need actively pursuing a degree and maintaining a 2.0 GPA or higher. 
  2. Burnett Family Scholarship: Applicants must be enrolled full-time, demonstrate a financial need, be of good character and remain in good standing with Southeastern University as defined by that organization’s rules and/or bylaws and must maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher. Further applicants must be participants and/or members of the following churches/ministries: Rich Valley Church (AG) in Valrico, FL; Freedom Church (First AG) in Tallahassee, FL; Heart of the Father Ministry in Lakeland, FL; Strong Tower Church, in Lakeland, FL or Parker Street Ministries in Lakeland, FL. A narrative essay is required documenting evidence of these qualifications and must be reviewed and signed by the pastor/director of the participating church/ministry listed in criteria above and submitted to Southeastern’s scholarship committee.
  3. Cecil Wiggins Endowed Scholarship Fund: Florida resident with first consideration given to student who attends Evangel Temple AG, Jacksonville, FL Must be pursuing a ministry degree which will lead to credentialing with the Assemblies of God; 2.5 or above GPA
  4. Harry and Irma Wolf Endowed Scholarship: SEU sophomores or above who have a 2.5 or above GPA and active member of an AG church.
  5. Karl Strader Endowed Scholarship: Offered to a member of Ignited Church with GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  6. Pastor’s Kid Endowed Scholarship: Awarded to a full-time incoming freshman who is the dependent of an Assemblies of God ordained minister, missionary, or staff member serving either in the geographical area of PenFL Section 10 or the Florida Multicultural District. The parent must have served for a minimum of 5 consecutive years prior to the date of the scholarship application. Recipient must not be over 21 years of age and must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher and listed as a dependent on parent(s) most recent income tax return and will also be required to write a 500 word essay. The essay should be 500 words on one of the following topics:
    • What unique quality do you possess that would allow you to continue to pursue your education at SEU?
    • What achievement, experience, interest or activity has had a powerful effect on you?
    • How has your culture, family, history or environment made you the unique person you are today?

  7. Robert and Margaret Gatlin Endowed Scholarship: Junior or senior who is from the West Florida District Council of the AG, a ministry major and presently active in student ministry.

The Coleman Tennis Scholarship: To aid prospective and current student-athlete men’s tennis team members who are or will be enrolled full-time at Southeastern University. Applicants must show financial need and be actively pursuing a degree to be considered for this scholarship. In addition, recipients must remain in good standing with the university, maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher and have completed a FAFSA.

Roy J. and Iris A. Kasmar Endowed Scholarship 

Student with financial need who is an entering freshman year, or transfer student with a GPA of at least 3.0, and majoring in business.

  1. Dr. Raffia Elizabeth Baz Smith Scholarship to the Glory of God: To provide scholarship funds toward tuition and books for students majoring in either Elementary Education or Missional Ministries and planning to enter the field of Elementary Education or Foreign Missions.  The Fund is also to be awarded to students with a 3.0 GPA or higher.
  2. Founder’s Fund Endowed Scholarship: Missions major or student who is intending to serve as a minister, missionary or educator overseas. GPA of 2.5 or above.
  1. Alfred and Hulda Anderson Memorial Scholarship: Junior or senior with GPA of 2.75 or above who has a financial need.
  2. Burnett Family Scholarship: Applicants must be enrolled full-time, demonstrate a financial need, be of good character and remain in good standing with Southeastern University as defined by that organization’s rules and/or bylaws and must maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher. Further applicants must be participants and/or members of the following churches/ministries: Rich Valley Church (AG) in Valrico, FL; Freedom Church (First AG) in Tallahassee, FL; Heart of the Father Ministry in Lakeland, FL; Strong Tower Church, in Lakeland, FL or Parker Street Ministries in Lakeland, FL.   3. Constance Lang Memorial Endowed Scholarship Fund: Sophomores, juniors and seniors with a GPA of 3.0 or above and display a financial need; Music majors may be given priority consideration.
  4. Foreign Nationals Endowed Scholarship: Must be foreign national seeking an undergraduate degree; must show financial need, be enrolled full-time, maintain 2.5 or above GPA at the end of the first year and maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 thereafter.
  5. Glenn S. Kraiss Scholarship: To aid qualified students with special consideration given to students with a significant need due to absence of parental support and those who have been in the foster care system. GPA of 2.5 or above.
  6. International Students Endowed Scholarship: Established to provide financial support to a full or part-time international student who attends Southeastern University. It is intended for students who are not United States citizens, either undergraduate or graduate, including incoming freshmen. Applicants must demonstrate sufficient ability to succeed in an American university based upon a score of 500 on the TOEFL and continue to show satisfactory progress towards degree completion to continue receiving the scholarship for up to five consecutive years.
  7. Koinonia of Ruskin Endowed Scholarship: Full-time student who demonstrates financial need and has unweighted GPA of 2.5 or higher. Preference will be given to a single parent with a child under the age of 18. The child must currently be living under the care of the single parent.
  8. Myrtle E. Bush Endowed Scholarship: Established to support a senior ministry major who displays a financial need and has a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
  9. Roy J. and Iris A. Kasmar Endowed Scholarship: Student with financial need who is an entering freshman or transfer student with a GPA of at least 3.0 and a business major.
  10. Student Work-Study Supplemental Assistance Endowed Fund: Established to support the financial need of full-time students who are receiving “work-study” financial assistance in their financial aid package. 
  11. Thomas Cross Endowed Scholarship: Sophomore, junior or senior with a GPA of 2.0 or above and a ministry major with a financial need.
  1. Glenn S. Kraiss Scholarship: To aid qualified students with special consideration given to students with a significant need due to absence of parental support and those who have been in the foster care system. GPA of 2.5 or above.

  3. Reach One Endowed Scholarship: Established as a scholarship for an international student enrolling full-time or returning as a full-time student. Applicants must demonstrate academic achievement, English proficiency and a true financial need. Students must maintain a 2.5 GPA each semester.

  3. Crossroads Ministries Endowed Scholarship: Established to be given to a Florida resident with a GPA of 2.5 or above, with a preference to a homeschooled student, a Private Christian School student, or a student from Hardee County.
  4. Cyril Homer Endowed Scholarship: Junior or senior with a ministerial or missions major, and who demonstrates qualities that indicate a high degree of spiritual leadership and moral strength. This student must maintain a GPA of 3.0.
  5. Foster Bolin Memorial Endowed Scholarship: Must be a senior and a ministry major at SEU who shows promise of successfully engaging in full-time ministry of the Gospel.
  6. Founder’s Fund Endowed Scholarship: Missions major or student who is intending to serve as a minister, missionary or educator overseas. GPA of 2.5 or above.
  7. Glory A. McMillan Scholarship: Ministerial students who have maintained a GPA of 2.0 or above and are second semester freshmen or higher. Qualified students who reside in Columbus, GA will be given first consideration.
  8. Janine F. and Jeffrey B. Spear Endowed Scholarship Fund: For a full-time undergraduate student, majoring in a full-time ministry degree program, with a demonstrated, unmet financial need. 
  9. Minnie B. Seward Endowed Scholarship: Awarded annually to student with an interest in apologetics who maintains a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Must submit paper on subject of apologetics.
  10. Myrtle E. Bush Endowed Scholarship: Established to support a senior and ministry major who displays a financial need with a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
  11. Rev Thomas “Tommy” E. Vaughn Scholarship: To aid ministry students enrolled full-time at Southeastern University. Applicants must demonstrate a financial need and should be actively pursuing a degree in pastoral ministries, missions, or another ministry-related degree. Students applying for this scholarship should maintain a 2.0 (or higher) GPA. Special consideration will be given to students who have completed a GED certification for their high school equivalency diploma in applying to Southeastern University.
  12. Robert and Margaret Gatlin Endowed Scholarship: Junior or senior who is from the West Florida District Council of the AG, a ministry major and presently active in student ministry.
  13. Thomas Cross Endowed Scholarship: Sophomore, junior or senior with a GPA of 2.0 or above and a ministry major with a financial need.
  1. Audrey Frazier Memorial Endowed Scholarship: – GPA of 2.5 or above.

  3. Cyril Homer Endowed Scholarship: Junior or senior with a ministerial or missions major, and who demonstrates qualities that indicate a high degree of spiritual leadership and moral strength. This student must maintain a GPA of 3.0.
  4.   6. Joe and Eloise Judah Memorial Endowed Scholarship: Two $500 awards will be given annually to junior or senior missions major.
  7. Mack James Endowed Scholarship: For student with financial need and who is preparing for preaching ministry.
  8. Porter-Noble-Leighton-Roebuck Endowed Scholarship: Junior or senior missions major who has a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
  9. Rev Thomas “Tommy” E. Vaughn Scholarship: To aid ministry students enrolled full-time at Southeastern University. Applicants must demonstrate a financial need and should be actively pursuing a degree in pastoral ministries, missions, or another ministry-related degree. Students applying for this scholarship should maintain a 2.0 (or higher) GPA. Special consideration will be given to students who have completed a GED certification for their high school equivalency diploma in applying to Southeastern University.
  1. Closshey Family Endowment: Awarded to students that maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher, with a major in Music, Graphic Arts, or Marketing.
  2. Constance Lang Memorial Endowed Scholarship Fund: Sophomores, juniors and seniors with a GPA of 3.0 or above; Music majors may be given priority consideration.

Mission Possible Nursing Endowed Scholarship: Award to full time students majoring in the nursing program of the College of Natural & Health Sciences with a demonstrated financial need maintaining a GPA of 2.5 or higher. First preference for scholarship awards will be given to students from the state of Florida.

Criss Family Memorial Endowed Scholarship: Award to full time students with demonstrated financial need actively pursuing a degree in the field of social work and maintaining a 3.0 GPA or higher.
