Cultivating the best experience for your chosen career path is one of the most valuable experiences of your time at SEU. You will grow in your knowledge of yourself, your faith, your goals, and most importantly, God’s calling for your life!
At SEU, our degree programs are divided into three sections — foundational core, major core, and Divine Design. The programs remain consistent but offer flexibility and adaptability to many contexts and learning formats. All undergraduate SEU degrees, whether on-campus, online, or at a partner site, earn credits in these three parts. The unique part of SEU’s degree programs is the Divine Design core, which comprises 30 to 45 customizable credit hours designed to help you discover and explore your calling.
The Goal of Our Divine Design Program
The Divine Design program is specifically crafted to alleviate the pressure many incoming students feel when they first enter college, while also providing room to create a unique space for discovering your purpose in Christ. Many students are undecided about their major or are concerned about losing time if they decide to change their major along the way. The Divine Design core gives you the freedom to explore your interests, confidently step into your calling, and ensures that you aren’t penalized if you decide to explore different interests throughout your academic journey. Whether you’re uncertain about your major or considering a change, this flexible curriculum empowers you to navigate your educational path without constraints.
Enhance Your Academic Journey
Divine Design enhances learning with multiple course types. You can gain education in areas of interest separate from your major, like minors or certificates. You might also choose hands-on experiences such as study abroad, SEU site immersions, practicum/internships, or experiential learning opportunities.
In fact, through the practicum option of Divine Design, you can even gain college credit for things you might be doing anyway, such as having a job, volunteering regularly at your church, or leading a campus organization.
An Opportunity for Learning Flexibility
Another significant benefit of the Divine Design program is the opportunity for students to gain more well-rounded knowledge. With the flexibility to pursue a double major, a single or double minor, and all experiential learning types, students can expand their academic horizons and cultivate a diverse skill set. Whether you’re passionate about exploring multiple disciplines or eager to gain practical experience through internships and volunteer work, Divine Design allows you to tailor your education to suit your unique interests and goals.
