Jack Esper, class of 2024, is an SEU aviation graduate whose story embodies what it means to live out a faith-filled calling both personally and professionally. From being an avid participant in SEU’s aviation program to also being a part of SEU’s baseball team, Jack’s experience at SEU has allowed him to gain the confidence and tools needed to step into his future outside of SEU.
Jack’s SEU Experience
Jack attended SEU from 2021–2024, graduating in just 3 years by being a part of the Classical Conversations Plus program. During his time at SEU, Jack made his mark both on the field and in the sky. Jack not only served as the first president of SEU’s aviation club, but he also played on the SEU baseball team and helped contribute to their 2022 NAIA World Series win. These two experiences allowed Jack to experience different areas of what SEU has to offer, propelling him into future opportunities.
Following God’s Call
During the summer of 2023, Northwoods Air LLC, a flight school in Maine, hired Jack to work for them on a summer contract. Once his summer contract ended, they asked him to come back and co-run the flight school to teach aspiring pilots as soon as he graduated. Jack ultimately decided to follow God’s call to Maine and accept the incredible opportunity.
“That experience really brought together everything SEU and Classical Conversations equipped me for… professional excellence, strong values, and living out my faith wherever I work,” Jack said.
Continuing His Journey
Jack’s life shifted once again when he left Maine. He made the move to Colorado to pursue other jet job opportunities. During this time, Jack also sought to build up his own brand as an independent instructor. Through this, he hopes to help others see the value of aviation.
“In the future, I would love to find ways to give back to SEU once I have a little more experience under my belt,” Jack said.
Through Jack’s enrollment in the CC+ program, he earned college credit at SEU — saving him time, money, and ultimately allowing him to graduate in just three years instead of four. Jack’s story reflects the heart behind SEU’s partnership with Classical Conversations: to equip students with a seamless gateway into higher education. As SEU continues partnering with the classical learning principles that the CC+ program is built on, students are empowered to carry their education into their college experience and forward as they step into their Divine Design.
About the CC+ Program
Classical Conversations Plus (CC+) is a Christian program that provides a pathway to college for homeschool students. Through Southeastern University’s partnership with CC+, students can begin earning college credit while remaining rooted in their local learning communities. By submitting Challenge assignments for evaluation by SEU faculty, students receive personalized feedback and a valuable head start on their college journey.
SEU is proud to partner with CC+ to offer guaranteed admission and a seamless transition into higher education, empowering students to continue their academic and spiritual growth as they pursue a classical education alongside their God-given calling.
