Alumna Jessica Jarvis (Isenhour) has kept busy since earning her bachelor’s degree in Music Business and a minor in Music Technology from SEU in 2022. She has built a successful career as an entrepreneur and freelance audio-visual technician for corporate and live events. In addition, she works as an independent marketing contractor, and when she’s not on show sites, she can be found in the studio collaborating with her producer, Jonathan Gautier, at Sound House Studios in Lakeland.
Jessica’s debut single, Shakespeare Street, was released on December 1. She married her husband, Caleb Isenhour, during her junior year at SEU after meeting him during Freshman Welcome Weekend and dating throughout college. After their wedding, they moved into a 500-square-foot apartment across from SEU, once known as Mira Lago and formerly SEU housing. Today, the apartments are called the Shakespeare Street Apartments.
Though they no longer live in that small space and are now homeowners in Kissimmee, Florida, Jessica reflects fondly on their humble beginnings. She treasures the faith lessons she learned in that first apartment, saying, “I think the Lord was really on to something when He encouraged us not to despise small beginnings. A lot of beautiful things grow from those small beginnings!”
Her debut single, Shakespeare Street, captures the beauty and adventure of the first two years of her marriage. As she approaches four years of marriage, she is grateful for the lessons learned in those early days and for making the most of even the smallest moments with her husband.
To Jessica, this song embodies the essence of love. She hopes that its melodic storytelling resonates with listeners and reminds them of the special, often simple moments that make life meaningful — moments that, for her and Caleb, began on Shakespeare Street, with a love seat, in just 500 square feet.
