Embracing Community at SEU
For Jade Beesley, a recipient of the W. Bolin Memorial Scholarship and the Harry & Irma Wolf Endowed Scholarship, Southeastern University is more than an academic institution — it’s a place where her faith and dreams have flourished. As a music major actively involved in SEU Worship and other areas on campus, Jade has discovered the impact of Christ-centered connections.
“Community is emphasized at SEU, and that has been such a positive experience,” Jade shared. “I have made memories in my college years that I know will follow me throughout my life, and I am just so grateful.”
Jade’s journey to SEU was rooted in a deep sense of purpose. “I undeniably felt the Lord draw my heart to further my education here. He has taught me the power of having faith even when I do not have every detail figured out,” she explained. For Jade, walking SEU’s campus every day is both a joy and an honor, as she firmly believes that God has His hand on SEU in a unique way.
The support Jade has received from her scholarships has been instrumental in her ability to thrive at SEU. By alleviating financial stress, these scholarships have allowed her to fully invest in her academic and spiritual growth.
Preparing for a Life of Worship and Ministry
Jade’s passion for worship and ministry is at the heart of her time at SEU. Through the Worship Studies program in the SEU School of Music, she is preparing to lead others in faith and service. While she doesn’t have set plans post-graduation, Jade is confident in the Lord’s guidance for her future.
“My heart beats for His Church and His people. My desire is to lead worship full time at a local church and continue in ministry in some form or fashion for the rest of my life,” she shared. Guided by Proverbs 3:6, Jade trusts that God will direct her path.
“These scholarships have impacted me tremendously in my journey at SEU. Coming to SEU is where the Lord led me,” she said. “I’ve always desired a life in full-time ministry like both of my parents, but I didn’t know how I’d be able to come due to finances. I am so grateful for the generosity of donors for making my time here possible.”
Through their contributions, donors are not only helping students like Jade succeed academically but also empowering them to answer God’s calling. Jade’s journey exemplifies how faith, education, and generosity can come together to shape the next generation of leaders.
