We are excited to announce the appointment of Perri Morales as the new director of SEU Missions. With a rich background in both global ministry and pastoral leadership, Perri steps into this role ready to equip and send students to live missionally around the world, as well as within their own communities.

Perri has a deep history with missions. She went on her first mission trip at just 13 years old. It was an experience that opened her eyes to the world and sparked a lifelong passion for sharing the Gospel. From 2018 to 2021, she served as a student leader within SEU Missions, where God reignited her passion for the Great Commission. After graduating, she lived in Brazil and worked with various missions organizations, including Fellowship of Christian Athletes. For the past four years, she and her husband have pastored in her hometown in Georgia, leading a thriving young adult ministry and developing a ten-month intensive discipleship internship program. These experiences have prepared her to shepherd SEU students as they discover their calling and step out boldly to share the Gospel across cultures.

“What excites me most about working with SEU students is empowering them to carry the Gospel into any space God has called them to,” Perri shared. “Many people think missions is only for those who feel a specific calling, but the Great Commission is for every believer. Helping students discover their unique mission field is something I’m incredibly passionate about.”

Perri’s vision for SEU Missions is to expand its reach by sending more students to more places, while also developing leaders who live missionally in their everyday lives. 2025 SEU Missions team standing.

Reflecting on her own journey, Perri recalls how an SEU mission trip transformed her life. After her original spring break plans fell through during her first year in college, she joined a mission trip to the Dominican Republic. “That experience was a turning point,” she said. “It reawakened my heart for missions and gave me clarity about the direction God was calling me to. It was a life-changing moment that altered the course of my future.”

Now, Perri is eager to help students encounter God in similar ways. “I hope every student walks away from their mission trip with a deeper encounter with Jesus, greater confidence in sharing the Gospel, and a clearer understanding of their purpose,” she said. “My prayer is that they return with a servant’s heart and a hunger to live on mission in every area of their lives.”

As Perri steps into this role, she follows in the leadership of Ahmed Velez, who now serves as SEU’s Director of Spiritual Formation. Having served in nearly every role within SEU Missions before becoming Director, Ahmed celebrates this new season: “Even in my new role, I’m still deeply connected to SEU Missions and thrilled to see Perri leading. Her heart for discipleship and her experience both globally and pastorally uniquely equip her to carry this vision forward.”

Together, Perri and Ahmed will continue to partner closely, championing missions and spiritual formation across campus. With this new chapter, SEU Missions will continue to grow and inspire students to say yes to God’s call.
