SEU to Hold Spring 2024 Commencement

We are thrilled to hold our Spring 2024 Commencement ceremony on Friday, April 26, at 6:30 p.m. at the RP Funding Center. The ceremony will feature guest speaker Dr. Rob Hoskins, president of OneHope, and President’s Award recipient Senator Doug Broxson

Get to Know the Spring Class of 2024

The spring class of 2024 is the university’s 87th graduating class. With a total of 947 graduates, the spring class brings the total number of SEU graduates up to 24,720. Over 700 graduates will be participating in the ceremony. 

The graduates originate from Florida, 46 other states and 22 countries, including Austria, Brazil, Chile, China, France, Norway, Pakistan, Rwanda, Uganda, Northern Ireland and more. A large portion of graduates also come from 78 of the university’s partner site locations.

In addition, two graduates have completed the SEU Link Program, an inclusive, post-secondary education program designed for young adult students with mild intellectual disabilities.

About the Speaker

OneHope partners with local churches to reach over two billion children and youth worldwide with a contextualized presentation of God’s Word. Hoskins has served as the organization’s president since 2004. Under his leadership, OneHope’s products and programs have been translated into hundreds of languages and expanded digitally with the Bible App for Kids and Kids Bible Experience developed in partnership with YouVersion.

He also serves in various networks, including being the senior advisor to the World Evangelical Alliance, a member of Empowered21 Global Council and leading the World Assemblies of God Fellowship Church Planting Commission.

The President’s Award

Senator Broxson represents Florida’s District 1 and will be receiving the President’s Award during the ceremony in recognition of his work in the Florida legislature. Broxson was elected to serve in the Florida House of Representatives in November 2010 and was subsequently re-elected in 2012 and 2014. In November of 2016, Broxson was elected to the Florida Senate, serving District 1, which includes Escambia, Santa Rosa and Okaloosa Counties. He was re-elected in November of 2020 and 2022. 

Currently, Broxson is the Chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee; Alternating Chair of the Joint Legislative Budget Commission; and serves on the Banking and Insurance, Judiciary and Rules Committees. While serving in the legislature, Broxson has championed cutting taxes and government regulations, insurance reform, education and making Florida the most veteran-friendly state in the nation.
