At Southeastern University, we recognize that lived experiences and non-classroom experiences can have tremendous value.
That’s why, in addition to your SEU classes, we have multiple ways for you to earn credit toward completing your degree. When you take advantage of the wide variety of options for additional college credit that SEU offers, you can complete your degree faster — fully online!
Opportunities include:
Our fully-online degrees are not only flexible and designed to fit your life, but each and every program includes the support of our exemplary faculty.
The evaluation of your prior learning and subsequent processing to apply your approved credits to your degree may incur additional fees. SEU’s college code is 5621.
The first semester of college is no longer the first time that many students encounter college-level learning. Programs that offer college-level credit, such as CLEP, IB, AP, or AICE, allow students to not only experience higher education sooner, but to save time and money when they get to college.
Show the level of knowledge you have acquired by taking standardized tests or completing courses to potentially earn college credit for class equivalency. There are dozens of different subject areas — and numerous types of tests and courses available — to determine your mastery level, even if you completed high school a while ago.
You can earn up to 45 credit hours through PLAs such as AP, CLEP, IB, AICE, or Faculty Evaluation.
Taking an Advanced Placement (AP) class and earning a passing exam score, or earning a passing score on a College Level Placement Exam (CLEP) will translate to credit toward your degree.
Please follow the steps below to request that your official scores are sent directly from the College Board to the Registrar’s Office. Enter SEU’s college code, 5621, in the College Code field to ensure direct delivery to the correct office: Southeastern University, Registrar’s Office.
You must follow the steps above to request the official copy of your results in order for a credit evaluation to proceed; copies from your online account will not be accepted.
SEU welcomes credits earned through the challenging curriculum of these prestigious programs. To request a credit evaluation, send your official score sheets/transcripts to the SEU Registrar’s Office with these links.
A wide array of subjects are taught at SEU by professors who are experts in their fields. Depending on the subject area, you may receive credit by completing an essay and faculty evaluation, or by passing the course’s final exam with a grade of 70 or higher. Request more information here.
College credit earned by enrolling in a higher learning institution while also attending high school is considered dual enrollment. SEU gladly accepts most dual enrollment credit, however, please be sure to send the correct documentation to ensure that we have all of the information needed in order to evaluate the course(s) taken.
For example, Polk State Lakeland Collegiate High School is a high school, and to transfer college credit earned through dual enrollment, the college transcript must come from Polk State College.
Our fully-online degrees allow you the flexibility of balancing your other commitments with advancing your education.
