Bio

Professor Hoffman joins the Fire family after a 17 year career as a Crime and Intelligence Analyst; 10 of those years were as the Analyst Manager for the Manatee County Sheriffs Office. She is a Certified Law Enforcement Analyst (CLEA) with the International Association of Crime Analysts (IACA) as well as through the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE). She has an undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice and Psychology and holds a Masters of Science degree in Criminal Justice as well as a Masters in Liberal Arts in Industrial Organizational Psychology. She is currently enrolled in the PhD in Curriculum and Instruction program at the University of South Florida.

Outside of work, Amber is married to her husband David who is a Master Deputy Sheriff with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office and serves as a Deacon in their church. They have one daughter who is a graduate student at the University of Central Florida.

In her own words, "I am very passionate about helping people find their true purpose in life which is why I chose to pursue a career at Southeastern University. The "divine design" philosophy that is embedded here is what I have always dreamed of in a profession. I am most excited to get to know my students and be a positive point in their life's journey towards fulfilling their God given purpose."
