Bio

Professor Forrester is an assistant professor of English and creative writing and an author with many publications, including her first full-length book of poetry, Resurrection, from Word Poetry (2021). Dozens of her poems have appeared in magazines, journals, and anthologies, such as Chasing Light: Poems inspired by Burgert Brothers photographs (2019) and Azahares (2019), a Spanish language literary magazine.

Professor Forrester has worked in higher education for more than ten years and joined the Department of Humanities at SEU in 2021. She teaches English composition and creative writing. An avid supporter of literary arts, she serves as president of Florida Literary Arts Coalition, Inc., and she previously served on the board of YellowJacket Press.
With an inherent interest in the intersectionality of things, Professor Forrester's current research and creative work is concerned with multicultural literature, trauma, faith, and healing. She founded the Las Mujeres de las Possibilidades focus group and attempts to write translations. When she is not writing, she is reading poems by Carl Phillips or Ada Limon with her two cats and dog.
