Dr. Bellamin (Ben) Gómez, Associate Professor, received his B.A. in Legal Studies from Lasell University in 2007. He received his Juris Doctorate from the Massachusetts School of Law with a concentration in Business and Corporate Law. Additionally, he has a Master in Divinity from Southeastern University and a Graduate Certificate in Youth, Family & Culture from Fuller Theological Seminary. Currently, he is a Ph.D. Candidate at the University of Birmingham, UK, in the Centre for Pentecostal Studies focusing on systematic constructive theology. Dr. Gomez’s work has been presented at the Society for Pentecostal Studies and the University of Birmingham, U.K.
Dr. Gomez arrived to Southeastern in 2016 after working for a Fortune 500 company and serving in the pastorate. He came with the desire to equip emerging leaders who invest in their theological and vocational journeys. In addition to teaching, he serves as the Executive Director of Student Affairs and the Associate Director of the Adolfo Carrión Hispanic Leadership Center. He teaches courses in New Testament, Christian Thought and Practice, Theology, Church Administration and Leadership, and Practical Ministry. His passion for teaching is equally matched by his passion for mentoring and helping adolescents and emerging adults, seeking to understand their stories and how their narratives impact how they navigate the world they have inherited.
In 2021, he became the Dean of Student Success, overseeing ADA Services, ACE, Academic Advising, Retention, Student Outreach & Support, Title IX, Community Standards & Responsibility, Student Government Association, and Career Services.
