Bethany Ruth Miller is an active filmmaker with an adoration for empowering the next generation of Christian filmmakers. She has worked in multiple capacities throughout the film production process on more than fifty short films, as well as five feature-length films. Her award-winning films have screened at multiple film festivals nationwide.
Professor Miller has extensive experience in casting and acting. She studied Musical Theatre at Harrison School for the Arts and interned with Terri Taylor Casting, aiding with the casting of four feature films as well as assisting in a casting session with director Spike Lee. At FSU, Professor Miller served as a Graduate Assistant and was elected, by her peers, as the Head of Thesis Casting. She has also lent her voice to many short films as a voice actor.
Professor Miller has been teaching at SEU since 2018 and is the recipient of the 2022 Outstanding Educator Award from the Alliance for AG Higher Education. Her courses include Intro to Film Production, Digital Video Editing, Film Appreciation, Cinematography, Edit for Story, Film Practicum, Screen Acting, Directing for Film, Producing for Film, Production Design, and Senior Capstone Production. Professor Miller also serves as the Director of the Fire Film Festival.
