Bio

Dr. Lawson is a graduate of Biola University, was a professor of counseling at Liberty University for 10 years before moving to Florida. He then spent 17 years teaching and growing Palm Beach Atlantic University’s Orlando campus. Dr. Lawson completed his clinical internship at The University of Virginia, where he began his teaching career. He is licensed in both Virginia and Florida and continues to provide counseling services. He has written articles and book chapters on families, sexuality and the integration of faith and science. He has worked professionally with the Virginia Psychological Association, the Christian Association for Psychological Studies (CAPS) and is currently the President elect for the Florida Counseling Association’s marriage and family counselors.

He has reviewed articles for “Communiqué,” the National Association of School Psychologists journal and The American Counseling Association's Journal of Counseling and Development. He has spoken at numerous conferences and was hired by the Department of Defense, providing marriage enrichment training for 8 years. He recently wrote two chapters in the book entitled, Counseling Techniques: A Comprehensive Resource for Christian Counselors.

However, his most amazing accomplishment is being married to Amy Lawson and having four children. They currently reside in Apopka and attend church there.
