Dr. Debra J. Dean

Bio

Dr. Dean joined the SEU family in the spring of 2022. She serves as an assistant professor in the Jannetides College of Business, Communication, and Leadership. Her main areas of teaching are statistics, leadership, and followership.

Debra is an active researcher with many publications in academic journals and books. She has held adjunct positions with City Vision University, Colorado Christian University, Evangel University, Olivet University, Regent University, Spalding University, University of Dubuque, and Upper Iowa University. She has also served as a research methodologist and dissertation coach for several organizations. Her research interests include diversity and inclusion, faith at work, followership, leadership, and organizational culture and climate. She combines her academic background with 25 years of corporate experience in the financial services sector. Her roles included Director of Business Transformation, Operations Manager, and Quality Assurance Manager.

Debra is originally from LaGrange, Kentucky. She and her husband, Steve, have been blessed with six wonderful children and five beautiful grandchildren. For fun, Debra loves being outdoors. Her favorite places include sitting on the beach or hiking through the mountains.
