Professor Jose Ignacio is a dynamic composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. A distinguished graduate of the Berklee College of Music, where he received a full-tuition scholarship, Jose specialized in Film Scoring and Clarinet and Saxophone Performance. His studies deepened his expertise in composition, arranging, orchestration, music technology, improvisation, harmony, and jazz language.
Further honing his craft, Professor Ignacio pursued a Master of Music in Media Scoring and Production at the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami. He expanded his knowledge of production, mixing, mastering, and video game scoring there, reinforcing his foundation in music technology and production.
Throughout his career, Professor Ignacio has scored a diverse array of projects, including short films, video games, applications, cartoons, feature films, and documentaries. His most notable scoring works include composing music for a Nintendo Switch game, a series of animated stories for the International Justice Mission, crafting the entire soundtrack for an interactive storytelling app for children, doing orchestrations for the Viña del Mar festival for multi-award winner Sebastian Yatra, and orchestral arrangements of video game music, such as Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, and Metal Gear for the Eminence Symphonic Orchestra in Sydney, Australia, among other exciting projects. He also created a personal EP showcasing his original compositions with Afro-Dominican and jazz influences, which he composed, produced, and performed, and it is available on all streaming platforms.
On stage, Ignacio has performed alongside renowned artists and ensembles, touring internationally in countries such as Germany, France, Spain, the Czech Republic, Mexico, United States, Dominican Republic, and Haiti. His commercial music collaborations include performances as a featured soloist with celebrated musicians like Paquito D’Rivera, Jesus Molina, Berta Rojas, Los Wizzards, and Alemor, to name a few; as well as work with Aida Cuevas and Greg Phillinganes.
With a deep insight into the music industry, Professor Ignacio is also the co-founder and owner of JoGo Entertainment, a music entertainment company that provides services for corporate events and weddings. He has also collaborated with several other important corporations, such as RockWithU, Litus, Tropics Entertainment, Entourage Band, Silver Arrow, Lucky13, Eye2Eye, and more.
Professor Ignacio has also toured and performed with symphonic orchestras such as OSN (National Symphonic Orchestra of the Dominican Republic), YOA (Youth Orchestra of the Americas), OJCA (Youth Orchestra of Central America and the Caribbean), and OSNJ (Youth National Symphonic Orchestra of the Dominican Republic), showcasing his talents as principal clarinet, Eb clarinet, saxophone, and as a soloist for both saxophone and clarinet.
