Bio

Professor Dickens is the program coordinator and professor for the sport management program housed under the Jannetides College of Business, Communication, and Leadership. Professor Dickens is the assistant tennis coach for Southeastern as well.

Prior to working at Southeastern, Professor Dickens started as a tennis instructor at IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL, from 2014-2016. After working at IMG Academy, she began working at the USTA National Campus in Lake Nona, FL, becoming a certified tennis coach with the USPTA. Professor Dickens was also a head high school girls tennis coach for All Saints Academy located in Winter Haven, FL, for the 2018 and 2019 seasons.

Professor Dickens began her Southeastern career by working as a Graduate Assistant for the Human Performance and Sport Studies department in 2017; she moved into the Administration Assistant role in 2018, co-teaching a sport management class. Her true passion is helping college students find their God-given calling.

In 2020, Professor Dickens co-published an article on Title IX that was printed in the Sport Litigation Alert journal. She is currently working on co-publishing another article relating to higher education.

Now she is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Sport Management at Troy University. She is on track to graduate in the summer of 2023, with a research emphasis on the value of higher education.
