Mrs. Kara Dorsey came to SEU as a part-time Clinical and Simulation Instructor in 2017, and went on to become a full time Instructor in the Nursing Department in 2019 and later an assistant professor. She has extensive clinical experience in the areas of critical care, emergency department, and level II trauma, with over 18 years of clinical expertise. Mrs. Dorsey holds a master’s degree in nursing with a focus on education.
She has been actively involved in ministry for over 15 years and is an Ordained Minister with the Church of God, Cleveland, Tennessee. She and her husband Jeff are the lead Pastors at Dwelling Place Church of God in Lakeland and are also parents to three children.
Mrs. Dorsey finds great joy in assisting students to recognize and develop their divine callings and giftings given to them by God. She firmly believes that her work at SEU is not only a career, but also a divine appointment from The Lord, and she strives to practically apply the words of Jesus found in Mathew 5:14-16 to her life daily.
