Bio

NaKita honored to be at Southeastern as an Assistant Professor and Bachelor of Social Field Director. NaKita has been practicing social work in Polk County for over 11 years.

NaKita previously served as a School Social Worker with Polk County Public Schools and the HEARTH program. Her primary focus was unaccompanied adolescents experiencing homelessness. She has partnered with Southeastern’s Social Work department in the past as a field instructor and member of the Social Work Advisory Committee. NaKita is an Army veteran with additional experience working with active military, veterans and their dependents, adolescents experiencing mood disorders, and blended families.

NaKita currently provides faith-based, clinical mental health counseling services through her private practice located in Winter Haven. She specializes in women experiencing complex trauma and PTSD, Child-Parent Psychotherapy, and perinatal mental health. NaKita is also a trained birth doula and supervises registered interns for licensure. She also founded a mental health non-profit. NaKita’s passion is providing quality, Christian-based mental health care for marginalized individuals.
