Dr. Patricia Shaw is the principal at Southeastern University’s Pathways School of Excellence. She moved to Pathways as a teacher in the fall of 2016 when God made it clear that He wanted her to join Southeastern in this new endeavor. She joined the faculty after working at Lakeland Christian School for 11 years. Prior to Lakeland Christian, she taught special education in Polk County Schools for 11 years. During her teaching career, Dr. Shaw taught at the elementary, middle and high school levels in various special education classroom settings.
Working with students of varying needs has given Dr. Shaw a passion for equipping students with skills that will assist them in meeting their full potential. She has also discovered that ministering to parents of students with special needs is an integral part of her passion. Dr. Shaw assists faculty and staff with the implementation of Academics, Independent Functioning, and Communication. Her interests presently focus on effective strategies for building independence in adolescent students with special needs.
Dr. Shaw is also involved in the Southeastern community creating opportunities for students with special needs. She and her husband, Chris, have been married since 1993. They enjoy spending time with their son, daughter, and dogs.
