Dr. Scott R. Jones has spent his life investing in people, leaders, and the local church. Entering full-time ministry at just 19 years old, his ministry journey has included youth ministry, executive denominational leadership, and more than three decades as lead pastor of Grace Church, a multisite church serving the greater Houston area.
At the heart of Scott’s ministry is a passion he shares with his wife, Melanie: strengthening pastors, ministry leaders, and their families. Together, they have led a ministerial network, walked alongside pastors and spouses personally, and spoken at conferences and leadership gatherings. Married for 40 years, Scott and Melanie are especially proud of their family—son Spencer and his wife, Ashtyn, and daughter Savannah—all of whom are serving in ministry.
Scott is certified in Christian counseling and holds a Master of Arts in Ministerial Leadership from Southeastern University and a Doctor of Ministry in Semiotics from Portland Seminary. He also serves as a professor and director of MAMEX and DMIN cohorts at Southeastern University, where he has the privilege of investing in the next generation of ministry leaders.
After a lifetime in ministry, Scott remains convinced that leadership is ultimately about people—and that some of our greatest influence comes from what we invest in others.
