SEU Hosts Annual Fire Film Festival

Southeastern University’s College of Arts & Media and the Department of Film will present the annual Fire Film Festival this Saturday, February 19, on the university’s Lakeland campus. The festival will include film screenings beginning at 10 a.m., workshops with special guest speakers Michael Campion and Storm Smith, and an awards ceremony at 7:30 p.m.

The festival will open with a “Welcome Bash” on Friday, February 18, at 7 p.m. in the Buena Vida Auditorium. “We are so excited to welcome visitors to our campus. Friday night’s opening party, featuring a guest performance from the SEU Unpland Improv Team, is shaping up to be an excellent kickoff to the weekend,” said festival director and SEU film professor Bethany Miller.

About the Festival

Accepting submissions nationwide, the festival will be screening over 25 films from both SEU students and external filmmakers.

“The Fire Film Festival is a family friendly event safe for audiences of all ages. Not only is this an incredible occasion to showcase a wide variety of short films, but our guest speaker lineup is sure to touch the hearts and minds of all who attend,” said Miller. “Top it all off with a red carpet award ceremony, and the Fire Film Festival should be an event to remember!”

General admission for the festival is $20 and $10 for students. Event fees are only required for February 19. Buy your tickets for the event here.
