A Message from the President – The Crisis in Ukraine

By Kent J. Ingle, D.Min.

As many of you are aware, Russia launched attacks on Ukraine this morning hitting cities and bases. Ukraine’s government has called these actions “a full-scale war” as Russian troops and tanks rolled across the border. We know this situation has impacted many fellow believers and citizens living in Ukraine.

We have decided to dedicate next Tuesday morning’s chapel service to discuss a biblical perspective on the current global crisis. Dr. Joe Davis, professor of theology, will be sharing “The World in the Balance: Understanding the Signs of the Times.” I want to encourage all SEU community members to attend this special service and time of prayer for our world in Bush Chapel. If you aren’t able to attend in person, the service can be viewed online here

During times like these, we believe in the power of prayer. Ephesians 6:18 says, “And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.”

As a community, we ask that you join us in praying for peace in Ukraine. We have students who attend SEU from Ukraine and Russia. Please be praying for these students, their families and friends. Also, be praying for wisdom for the leaders in our world who will be making critical decisions in the coming days.
