SEU Tech Program Options

Our programs are designed to meet you right where you are in your academic journey. SEU offers three options for you to earn certificates in Software Development, Cybersecurity, or Data Science.

Choose a business degree (BBA or MBA) with a tech specialization
Pursue your certificates as a non-degree-seeking student
Add your certificates onto another SEU degree program

Each certificate program offers the chance to earn multiple industry certifications simultaneously and in reduced time. This means you can earn two certificates for the price and time of one!

Software Development, Front End* — Meta Front-End Web Development Professional Certificate & SEU Certificate in Front-End Web Development
Software Development, Back End* — Meta Back-End Web Development Professional Certificate & SEU Certificate in Back-End Web Development

*Full Stack: For an experience more aligned with Full Stack, you can learn both front-end and back-end modalities, allowing you to complete four certifications while spending only the cost and time of two.

The Journey to Tech Education

“Advancing technology education at SEU has been one of my goals since I started teaching. When I was a student here, I took the one programming course the university offered at the time and wished there were more,” said Cody Tessler, Associate Professor of Computer Science and Mathematics and Coordinator of SEU Tech. “Now, as an SEU faculty member, I am grateful to be part of creating more courses and designing innovative tech programs at my alma mater.”

Tessler explained that the benefits of technology-based knowledge extend beyond just understanding the functionality of the industry. “From leading the launch of these certificates to crafting a robust computer science minor, our mission is to prepare Christian leaders, innovators, and developers to make a meaningful impact in the tech industry,” he said. “This program is taking steps to shape a future where technology and faith come together to achieve the extraordinary.”

These programs are also highly relevant in the marketplace. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, technology has a higher-than-average projected growth in the next decade.

The SEU Tech Experience: Your Path to Excellence

SEU is committed to providing a holistic tech education that equips our students for success. Our programs offer hands-on learning opportunities, empowering you to solve real-world problems and prepare for the dynamic tech landscape ahead. For example, our data science students recently collaborated on a project with SEU’s data analytics team to analyze enrollment data.

Tessler also explained that the students who choose to get a Bachelor of Business Administration or Master of Business Association degree as part of their SEU journey get the additional benefits of sharpened business acumen, wider knowledge about organizational leadership and operations, and skill in managing team dynamics. Likewise, undergraduate students who add an SEU Tech certificate to their degree as part of their Divine Design credits further increase their marketability to their future employers.
