When SEU alumnus Ariel Sanabria graduated in 2007 with a degree in Church Leadership, he did not realize how God was going to use his SEU foundation to prepare him for the calling on his life.
Now, as pastors of Soul City Church in St. Cloud, Florida, Ariel and his wife Nancy have seen how God can create something powerful from a leap of faith.
What began with just 60 people, has now grown into a flourishing church with over 300 in weekly attendance. Ariel explained Soul City Church’s local impact saying, “The church provides food to families in need each week, ministers to youth in a local juvenile detention center, and actively serves throughout St. Cloud.” With a vision of making Jesus known to all, this church is committed to serving its community.
Ariel and Nancy started Soul City Church in 2021 after Ariel completed training through Church Multiplication Network. However, he believes that his preparation started even earlier when he was a student at SEU.
At SEU, his calling to being a pastor was strengthened through biblical teaching and practical ministry experience. He developed a deeper understanding of Scripture, spiritual maturity, and grew his relationships with God and others working to advance the kingdom. Ariel expressed, “Most importantly, my time there affirmed my calling and prepared me to lead, disciple, and shepherd people with wisdom, humility, and a heart for Christ.”
“Looking back, I’m incredibly grateful for the foundation Southeastern University provided and for the way God has used that preparation to lead us to where we are today,” Ariel said.
