SEU Worship has once again received two nominations for the GMA Dove Awards! The album A Forgiving God was nominated for Worship Album of the Year, and SEU Worship was also nominated for New Artist of the Year.
After being nominated for two 2025 GMA Dove Awards (Worship Album of the Year and Worship Recorded Song of the Year), being recognized again in 2026 on this national platform is a reflection of the dedication that so many students, staff, and faculty have poured into this worship collective. But, most importantly, it is a reflection of what God is doing on our campus.
A Forgiving God Album
A Forgiving God is a nine-track collection centered on themes of mercy, redemption, and the unwavering presence of God. Blending folky instrumentation and indie textures, the album reflects on the nearness of God through every season. Its songs speak to the realities of wrestling with shame, longing for home, and choosing to follow Jesus again and again. At its core, this album is a transformative declaration: He’s a forgiving God.
“This album was one that will always be so special to us and our community. These songs of our hearts are about our thanks for our good and merciful God,” said Chelsea Plank McGinnis, Director of SEU Worship. “We are humbled that this project is nominated for a Dove Award, as it will always be the tender cry of our community’s heart.”

About SEU Worship
SEU Worship is the worship movement at Southeastern University. As a collaboration between the faculty, staff, students, and alumni, SEU Worship is a reflection of the worship during weekly chapel services on our campus and within our community. Inspired by the sounds of current pop music and the culture of our student population, our writers aim to craft prophetic, theologically-sound lyrics that resonate with audiences of all ages, but especially with young adults. Since 2020, SEU Worship has been represented by Sony Music’s Provident Label Group.
