Explore our residence halls and find out what to bring to college.
While your individual needs may vary, here’s a good list of necessities to get you started.
*The twin beds in our dorms are extra-long, measuring 80 inches in length. Many home goods stores and websites such as Our Campus Market sell this size bedding.
** Tip: Coordinate these purchases with your roommate(s) to save space and money.
While not necessary, you might consider these items to help you feel more at home.
(Just remember you can’t use anything permanent or damaging, such as nails, to attach anything to your dorm walls. Most students use items such as white sticky tack, which removes cleanly and does not damage the walls.)
While “campus casual” is the standard for attire around SEU, it’s a good idea to bring along a few professional-looking pieces of clothing for events such as in-class presentations, internship interviews or job fairs.
You’ll always want to stay connected, so be sure to bring your phone charger. If you prefer to tune in to music while you study, remember your headphones. Note that while you’re not required to own a computer, many students find that bringing their own laptop is very helpful, since it allows you to work and study just about anywhere. Wi-Fi is available throughout campus.
Four- and eight-person suites for male residents, located near the main campus restaurant.
