Southeastern University is pleased to announce that we have recently achieved Associate Membership accreditation with the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM), an accrediting organization of schools, conservatories, and universities that was founded in 1924.
The SEU School of Music joins the more than 600 members of the NASM, which includes such prestigious members as the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston and the Yale University School of Music.
“This is a monumental achievement,” said Dr. Tyson Voigt, dean of the new College of Truth, Beauty & Culture at SEU and former chair of the School of Music. “We are so proud of and grateful to our administration, faculty, staff, students, and community for their roles in helping us reach this milestone.”
School of Music Success
The School of Music is intentionally designed to help students discover and develop their calling to the field of music. Students who audition and are accepted to the School of Music can choose from a Bachelor of Arts in Music, or degrees in Commercial Music, Music Education, or Worship Studies. Students from other areas of study are also invited to audition to be part of the school through a minor in music or by joining a music ensemble.
Whether they are performing at Carnegie Hall, winning Dove Awards, competing on The Voice, making a difference in K–12 music classrooms, or touring the country with SEU Worship, SEU has a long tradition of successful music students and alumni.
We are so proud of the School of Music for bringing this achievement to SEU!

NASM Accreditation Process
The NASM accreditation process includes multiple steps, including a self-study process, program evaluation and documentation, an on-site visit, meetings with faculty and administrators, and a formal report. The final step involves review by the NASM Commission on Accreditation, which considers all materials and reports before issuing an official accreditation decision.
