Parent Information

The SEU Link program strives to give our students the most authentic college experience. In order for students to gain the maximum amount of benefit from the program, it is important that the SEU Link staff and parents have the same expectations and partner with each other to foster student growth.

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Ut elit tellus, luctus nec ullamcorper mattis, pulvinar dapibus leo.
  • Students should be encouraged to seek assistance from those on campus; support will be provided through peer mentors and staff.
  • Students who live on campus generally make the best transitions when they remain on campus most weekends instead of returning home.
  • The ultimate goal of the SEU Link program is to increase the employability and independent living skills of the students, so the program does not provide the following:
    • Around-the-clock supervision
    • Daily/weekly check-ins with parents regarding student progress (updates are provided once per semester)
    • Mandatory social activities
    • Monitoring of student meal choices

Parents will be updated on student academic progress once per semester. In order to increase your student’s independence, it is recommended that parents refrain from:*

  • Communicating with students more than once per day.
  • Accessing student emails, calendars, and academic assignments.
  • Communicating with program mentors (except for arranging schedules for breaks).

Primary communication with Link staff should be handled via email (link@seu.edu). Phone calls may be scheduled Monday through Friday between 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM if necessary.
*excluding emergencies

We understand that these parameters will initially be an adjustment for both you and your student, but we have seen great success when these guidelines are followed! Please don’t hesitate to reach out to link@seu.edu with questions.
